Chopard’s watch

Most Expensive Watch - Chopard's $25 million watchYe, you read that right: twenty-five million dollars. This gaudy timepiece by Chopard is adorned with three heart-shaped diamonds—a 15-carat pink diamond, a 12-carat blue diamond and an 11-carat white diamond. For good measure, they threw in 163 carats of white and yellow diamonds to bring the total to 201 carats of diamonds. The result is something that looks rather like a geode that’s been turned inside out and dipped in lemon Kool-Aid. Add to that the fact that the size of the watch’s face must make telling time into a fun game of Where’s Waldo and you’ll see that Chopard has truly created a recipe for success.
Of course, its $25 million price tag guarantees its place as the world’s most expensive watch for years to come.s

Patek Phillipe’s Super Complication

World's most expensive watchPatek Philippe’s most expensive watch was a yellow-gold pocket watch created in 1932 for New York banker Henry Graves, Jr. The watch, Supercomplication, was created as part of a vain competition Graves had with Ohio automobile engineer James Ward Packard to have commissioned a watch with the most complications in the world. This watch, of course, guaranteed that Graves won the contest. Supercomplication wasn’t surpassed until over fifty years later, when Patek Philippe created the 18k gold Caliber 89 which had a total of thirty-three different functions.
Graves’ watch became the most expensive watch in the world when it was sold at auction in 1999 for over $11 million USD. Caliber 89 went for a mere $6 million.

Patek Philippe’s Platinum World Time

World’s most expensive wristwatchThe Platinum World Time created by Patek Philippe was sold at auction for over $4 million USD in 2002. It is believed that only one was created and, at the time, it was the most expensive wristwatch in the world.
In fact, Patek Philippe had produced all of the ten most expensive watches in the world. The company, headquartered in Geneva, made their first wristwatch in 1868. They had already made a name for themselves prior to that, however, by providing watches to Queen Victoria herself in 1851. Other notable customers include Pope Pius IX, a king and queen of Denmark, an Italian king and Saddam Hussein’s son-in-law.

Vacherin Constantin’s Tour de l’Ile

Most expensive new watch in the worldSwiss watchmaker Vacheron Constantin marked its 250th anniversary in 2005 with the world’s most complicated wrist watch—the Tour de l’Ile. The watch is so complicated that it required over 10,000 hours of research to create. Its name refers to one of the historical sites of the venerable company, located next to the current Maison Vacheron Constantin on the Quai de l’Ile.
Only produced in a limited edition of seven pieces, this expensive watch is also the most complicated double-face watch. Tour de l’Ile is made with a totally original combination of horological complications (that is, features beyond the simple telling of the time of day) and astronomical indications composing a list of sixteen different points including a minute repeater, sunset time, perpetual calendar, second time zone, a tourbillion device, the equation  of time and a representation of the night sky.
At $1.5 million, this is one of the world’s most expensive watch produced in recent years.

SILVER VULTURE TITANUM

In the evolution of the MTMPro Ops Line of tacticalwatches, the Night Ops Vultures represent a milestone in ingenuity and engineering.

The original edition Hawk employed a lighting system never before utilized in a military watch of any type.

Both the multi-mode lighting system and the Swiss quartz movement were powered by a rechargeable lithium-oxide battery that required nothing more to re-charge than placement on the charging stand.

The new edition Vulture represents another leap in MTMs technological innovation.

The former module has been updated to include 4 light modes which now include a strobe and an ultra-violet mode. Re-charging is as simple as connecting to a laptop via a USB port or AC wall outlet. With an all titanium case and scratch resistant DLC (Diamond-Like-Carbon) plating, the new Vulture soars above the rest.

Luxurious Watch for Any Sports Activity

The Blancpain legendary Fifty Fathoms Collection comprises highly-demanded boldly-designed sports watches. This year, the brand has created a new member to join the collection that boasts the complicated functions of a moon phase and a complete calendar, as well as the traditional column-wheel flyback chronograph, a feature really useful for sportsmen and sports fans.
The
Fifty Fathoms Complete Calendar Moon Phase Flyback Chronograph watchaccommodates a sophisticated self-winding movement constructed from 448 parts, including 37 jewels.
The moon phase complete calendar mechanism is based on the caliber F185 movement that offers a great advantage of safe setting of any indication, no matter what time of day or night it is. It makes the watch really stand out from the crowd of other complete calendar moon phase watches that do not allow their owner to set the calendar indications at certain times to avoid the risk of damaging the delicate details of the calendar.
The new Blancpain watch also incorporates the brand’s
patented under lug correctors that substituted the adjusters on the sides of the case and allow comfortable finger-tip setting instead of an adjusting tool.
The chronograph base is the brand’s traditional vertical clutch column-wheel controlled flyback movement.
The movement provides a
40-hour power-reserve.
The
case of the new Fifty Fathoms watch is sculptured in stainless steel and measures 45 mm in diameter. The watch demonstrates a blue sapphire unidirectional bezel and a blue dial.

Ball Watch Creates Powerful Engineer Hydrocarbon Spacemaster

Wristwatch of Remarkable Luminosity

The watchmaker Ball Watch has provided a true delight to watch collectors and fans by presenting a new interpretation of itsEngineer Hydrocarbon watch. The novel version of the watch features an array of innovations to please the owner’s eyes and mind. The Engineer Hydrocarbon Spacemaster is expected to be unveiled atBaselworld 2010.
The luminous unidirectional rotating bezel features an H3 micro gas light, positioned at 12 o’clock. The watch’s bezel also exposes a graduation from 0 to 14, as well as the numerals 15, 30 and 45, treated with a powerful luminous compound, which creates blue reflections.
Another highlight of the watch is represented by the patented triple folding clasp, manufactured from a single block of steel. The folding components under the buckle cap are equally divided, which allows the bracelet extension by 22 mm. It enables the watch owner to wear the timepiece over sports outfit.

The unique Ball Watch timekeeper accompanied the American navy pilot Brian Binnie during his flight into space. On the occasion of this landmark expedition the Ball Watch brand has endowed the Spacemaster dial with tubes of blue luminescent gas, reminiscent of a spaceship’s instrument panel.
Ticking inside this marvelous watch is a COSC-certified self-winding chronometer movement- ETA 2836-2. It gives life to the functions of hours, minutes, seconds, day and date.
The Engineer Hydrocarbon Spacemaster watch is offered with a 41.5 mm case, crafted from stainless steel. Apart from the eye-catching bezel, it also reveals the brand's patented crown guard.
On the dial side the watch case is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. Moreover, the case is antimagnetic to 12,000 A/m, shock-resistant to 7,500 Gs and water-resistant to 333 meters.
Performed in black, the watch dial is outfitted withmicro-tubes of gas, which ensure a good level of darkness visibility.
The novel Ball Watch Engineer Hydrocarbon Spacemaster is secured to the wearer’s wrist on a tapered stainless steel bracelet, equipped with the patented folding clasp and extension system.

Metamorphosis Watch That Changes Faces

At SIHH 2010, Montblanc proudly unveiled the first groundbreaking creation of the Institut Minerva de Recherche en Haute Horlogerie - TimeWriter 1: Metamorphosis.
The Institut Minerva de Recherche en Haute Horlogerie, founded by the brand in 2008, has a noble mission of supporting, both materially and intellectually, young talents giving birth to new ideas to highlight the art of watchmaking. Therefore, Montblanc introduced the “TimeWriter” concept, under which the brand intends to present a project every two years developed by independent creators who introduce great ideas and want to become independent watchmakers.
Two young watch specialists Johnny Girardin and Franck Orny wanted to create a wristwatch with two faces, based on the principles of traditional watchmaking, yet representing an entirely new and unprecedented concept.

The new extraordinary project of the TimeWriter series is actually based on the Montblanc`s own hand-crafted chronographe calibre MBM 16.29. The way the Montblanc Metamorphosis transforms itself is truly unprecedented. Via moving a slide down or up, the watch transforms from a wristwatch displaying hours, minutes, and seconds into a chronograph and vice versa. This metamorphosis is performed in a completely mechanical manner inspired by methods applied in automatons construction, a traditional trade long practiced in the Swiss Jura region.

Before the eye-paralyzing transformation takes place, the watch with a large teardrop-like case demonstrates a dial with an unusual display of the civil time . In the upper part of the dial, you will see the regulator-style sub-dial featuring a lonely hour-hand and completed with Roman numerals.
At the same time, a retrograde minute-hand sweeps its arc between 8 and 4 o’clock from the center of the dial. A large seconds-hand, also in the center, makes one full circle every minute. At 6 o`clock, you will notice a hand-type date display. The hands together indicate the civil time and the date.
The metamorphosis starts as soon as the watch owner pulls the slide on the left-hand flank of the watch’s case downward from the “10” to the “8.” Within about fifteen seconds, the watch transforms into a chronograph. Four wings in the lower part of the dial open, slide under one another, and hide to the left and right beneath the middle bar of the dial. A similar sequence happens with two wings on the regulator’s hour dial in the upper part of the dial.
As soon as all the wings have opened, a sub-dial rises reminding the floor of an elevator at 6 o`clock and an opening in this rising disk “swallows” the date-hand. The just risen rotating disc represents the minute counter for the chronograph function.

After the breathtaking transformation takes place, the dial of the watch is fully devoted to the chronograph function. Now, the dial is completed with Arabic numerals and is highlighted with red accents. The hours are displayed on a sub-dial at 12 o`clock such as before and the retrograde minutes are also displayed from the centre.
The continuous seconds hand has transformed into the central chronograph hand. As for the risen turning disc at 6 o’clock, it stands out due to an elapsed-minutes scale calibrated from 01 to 31. A motionless index on the central bar of the dial shows which minute is at the moment being tallied.
The scale is calibrated for 31 minutes as its designers wanted to emphasize the fact that a date scale could take this position too. The watch owner is sure to highly appreciate such peculiarities, especially when seeing that each of the two displays performs with absolute mechanical independence of the other. The elapsed-minutes disk turns continuously, and the date-hand movement is “semi-instantaneous.”

The creators of the Metamorphosis watch used the luxurious column-wheel Montblanc/Minerva 16.29 caliber, composed of 252 individual parts, having created a unique additional mechanical structure built from 315 components. The result is the remarkable sum of 567 individual parts. No doubt, the Montblanc Metamorphos highlights the list of the most complicated up-to-date wristwatches.
The teardrop-shaped case of the Montblanc watch, 47mm in diameter, is sculptured from 18K white gold. The case incorporates double sapphire crystals. The timepiece is 50-meter water-resistant. The dial is performed in titanium, steel and sapphire.
As Watches.InfoNIAC.com found out, the Montblanc Timewriter 1 Metamorphosis watch is expected to be limited to just 28 pieces and offered at the price of 195,000 Euros.
